Quincy Resource Group Announces Food Drive

To help keep the shelves at local food pantries well stocked, Quincy Resource Group has organized a food drive that will start on Tuesday, November 18th and run through Wednesday, December 17th. A collection bin has been located in the plant near the time clock. During this time, employees are encouraged to consider donating non-perishable items. Last year, Quincy associates donated 187 pounds of food to the Full Shelf Food Pantry in West Bend. Although times are tough, let's try to go beyond that total to help those in our community who are less fortunate. Back to News Releases.

Quincy & Big Brothers Big Sisters Put Action In Jackson

Superheroes Are Amongst Us All! Share a Little Time. Make a Big Difference. That's the motto at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County. Volunteer mentors are “Superheroes” all year long and Quincy Resource Group is proud to sponsor a horse and carriage ride in the Action in Jackson parade on Sunday, June 8th. Real heroes, Roger & Judy Vavra, Big Brothers Big Sisters 2007 Big Couple of the Year, and their Little Brother, Nick will ride in the parade. Roger & Judy have been matched with Nick, who is 16, for about a year and a half. In addition to spending time with and mentoring Nick, Roger and Judy have opened their home to other matches and hosted several activities on their property in the country. Even though their community match is still “young,” they have all gained so much and look forward to the coming years together. Mentoring is about sharing a little time while making a big difference. Play a cardgame. Share some laughs. Make a difference in just an hour a week over lunch or a couple hours a month while playing in the park. Mentoring is simple, it’s fun, you get to be a kid again yourself. Join the many volunteers who say, “I get back so much more than I give.” Weekly or bi-monthly mentoring opportunities exist. For more information, please see Human Resources or call Big Brothers Big Sisters of Washington County at (262) 334-7896 or check out their website at www.bbbswashco.org. Back to News Releases.

New Compressor Is Environmentally Friendly

Quincy's new 3707V Air Compressor is a big step forward for our workers and the environment. Producing a consistent 100 psi output, the 3707V operates at 68 dba, keeping our plant a quiet environment in which to work. Since the 3707V uses only 3 gallons of biodegradable oil, we have reduced our oil consumption by 40% over our previous compressor. Its coreless filter, which allows for compaction, uses less space in landfills. It's a win-win for Quincy and the environment. Back to News Releases.
