Reduce, Recycle, Reuse
We enter 2008 with a global consensus that protecting the Earth for future generations is this generation’s prime responsibility. And at Quincy Resources Group standing on the sidelines is not an option; as a responsible U.S. packaging company we play an active leadership role in preserving the Earth’s natural resources.
While the packaging industry is waiting to adopt a set of standards such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), or another consensus-based standard for measures of sustainable packaging, Quincy Resource Group is already taking steps to increase awareness and adoption levels of corrugated boxes and packaging sustainability.
Quincy Resources Group takes our responsibility of protecting the Earth's natural resources seriously. Our commitment to preserve the planet's natural resources sets an example for future generations. It is the driving force behind our green best practices and customer product education initiatives such as our sustainability packaging program.
Facts about recycling 1 ton of corrugated cardboard
- Saves 17 trees from having to be cut down and used for pulp
- Saves 7000 gallons of water
- Cuts pollution 95%
- Saves 11 barrels – 462 gallons – of oil
- Saves more than 3 cubic yards of landfill space
- Corrugated can be recycled an average of 7 times before the fibers become to short and they are filtered out as sludge during the pulping process. The sludge is then ready for disposal but often has one more usage and that is as daily cover at landfills in place of soil.
